This is the way many blog posts happen:

A random thought flits through the fragmented mind.

Later, someone says something that makes me think of it again. Then I see an image that reminds me of it. The next day, another aspect of the random thought comes to mind. I run into a person that is associated with the thought.

The idea gets hammered to the forefront in countless tiny ways.

Often, I have absolutely no idea why.

I am being hammered with thoughts about a mission trip I took to Russia.

It was eight years ago… another life entirely.

I don’t exactly know why I’m supposed to talk about it now, but I think I am. (Even though there are a gazillion other things I want to talk about instead.)

So, I’ll start at the beginning.

Maybe tomorrow…

(If I hit "publish" then I'll be obligated to follow through. Even though I am in the throes of preparing for another coast change. Here goes...)

I think God has a terific sense of humor!
He knows you are busy. He knows you are jetting to the other coast.
He knows you have a story you need to share.

He knows you will! Because He is the One who has been dropping the hints!!

Looking forward to your Russian Mission trip stories!

Wow! That photo could be Oz or the Emerald City. Since I just returned from NY where we saw Wicked, THAT was on my mind. What I loved about Wicked was that it gave a totally different perspective to the story that we've all accepted as the truth about Dorothy and the wicked witch. What if it DIDN'T happen that way? What if we only saw ONE SIDE of the story and Elfaba wasn't wicked at all? I've been thinking about it and how many times I've only known half of the story but made decisions based on what I've known (I guess, though, if we've done due diligence, we can only make decisions based on the information we have at the time and hope they're the best ones - there are very few watershed decisions in my life that looking back I would actually redo, so I guess I did make the best ones for me at the time).

I've become caught up in the busy life of a homeschooling mom of three and haven't taken the time to read for awhile. But here I am. Back. Finally. I read Anna Karenina for the first time before Cora was born. Loved it. Loved it. I'm sure I'd fail miserably at any Russian Lit discussion group, but I love to read it. And that's enough for me. :-)
